Eric brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, real estate sales and development, restaurant management, resort operations and expedition guiding – holding senior positions with industry leaders Vail Resorts, Yellowstone Club and Everlands, before founding Outlaw Partners in 2009. Ranked as one of the Top 10 real estate sales people in the United States in 2006 & 2007, Eric’s role as senior sales representative led Yellowstone Club to achieve over 1 billion in sales – one of the most successful runs in real estate in the last decade. Eric is the 4th generation of his family to work in the real estate business platform and brings an extensive network to the table to assist clients.
Ryan hails from Rapid City, S.D. where he learned the value of hard work through his family’s construction business. His family raised him as a skier and that connection brought him to Big Sky in the winter of 1998. A real estate executor in Montana since 2003, he has represented multiple high-end properties in Big Sky and the greater Yellowstone region. In 2012, Ryan was the number one commercial broker in Big Sky and represented some of the highest priced sales.
Before co-founding L & K, Ryan gained experience with a number of brokerages where he was a top-producing agent and earned a reputation as a tenacious, informed and trusted entrepreneur. From 2003-2006 he helped bring to market, co-list and sell the largest condominium development in Big Sky’s Meadow Village in more than two decades. Ryan is an 11-year-member of the Big Sky Search and Rescue team and enjoys all facets of the Big Sky lifestyle.
Katie Morrison is a Montana native with a passion for travel. After years spent away, she moved back to Montana in 2005 where she joined L&K’s co-founder Eric Ladd at Yellowstone Club, working as his sales assistant. In 2007 she began with startup high-end international travel company, Everlands, serving as the intermediary between the sales team, additional departments, the conservation non-profit, strategic partners, and the company travel lodges.
From there, wanting to pursue the philanthropic profession, she took a position as the Executive Director of the non-profit Big Sky Community Corporation, leading efforts to create a park district and the Big Sky Community Park. Upon completion of the two projects, she went back to her sales and marketing background as the Operations Director of Outlaw Partners, where she managed advertising and numerous marketing client accounts. She joined L&K in 2013, bringing her sales and marketing background to promote listings.
Born and raised in Upland, California, Carrie’s first career path was in the dental field. She spent over seventeen years managing dental offices ultimately closed that chapter of her life working in a multi-million dollar practice where she also assisted in surgery and implants. As an early example of Carries tireless and tenacious work ethic, during this time, she moved to Dallas Ft. Worth where she simultaneously co-owned and managed a concrete company for ten years specializing in decorative stamped concrete.
Carrie moved to Montana in 2002 where she managed the front desk at both the Moonlight Spa as well as the Huntley Lodge. But it was the excitement of real estate that drove her to get her Montana real estate license in 2005. Carrie has worked for a number of brokers, including four years with Ryan Kulesza, co-founder of L & K Real Estate. Carrie has had direct participation in several multi-million dollar transactions in both Montana and Texas where she is also licensed.
Bryce grew up in Holderness, New Hampshire and spent the summers between his academic years at Middlebury College guiding fly-fishing trips on the world-class rivers around Big Sky. After graduating, he moved west to Big Sky to pursue his passion for fly-fishing and explore the limitless recreational opportunities Montana has to offer.
Before joining L&K, Bryce founded Lone Peak Outfitters. Successfully guiding guests for over 10 years on some of Montana’s most impressive rivers and ranches has given him a unique understanding of what makes a recreational property valuable. Bryce’s strong work ethic, attention to detail and customer loyalty helped build the impressive network of clientele and contacts that he has today.
Bryce holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences from Middlebury College and has a strong respect and passion for preserving this wonderful place we call home. He is a member of Trout Unlimited, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Pheasants Forever.
Gallatin Valley Property Specialist
EJ joins the L&K team as a fourth generation Montanan, and the newest member of our team. As a licensed salesperson, he will help L&K source new listings, buyers, sellers, and potential development opportunities in the Gallatin Valley and Bozeman area.
He simultaneously works as the Director of Sales for Big Sky based marketing and media firm Outlaw Partners, which services clients across the western U.S. Including Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and beyond. His role at Outlaw allows him to work alongside many business owners in a range of industries in the greater Yellowstone region, helping them creatively market and brand themselves. Being a Bozeman native gives him great opportunity to network in a quickly growing Gallatin Valley market.
Karen is originally from San Francisco and moved to Big Sky to ski in 1978 when it was just in its infancy. Being a part of the resort back then was a special time and she has knowledge of the growth of the area. She spent time in Santa Fe, NM where she first became a licensed Realtor, had a landscaping business, managed the construction/remodel of a resort/spa in the area, built two homes, but found her way back to Big Sky in 1997.
Since regaining her real estate license in 2000 she has worked diligently to bring buyers and sellers together on many complex transactions. Karen joined L&K in 2013; her managerial role dedicated to bringing the team together to represent our clients and customers. Karen currently holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Gallatin Association of Realtors and successfully started a multiple listing service for the agents in Big Sky.
Ranch & Recreation Specialist
As a ranch broker, ag marketing specialist and fly fishing outfitter, the relationship between agriculture and recreation and its effect on the ever changing landscape of the West has always been a passion for Jim Toth. With over 30 years of experience in water and ag resource assessment, land and business development, marketing, outfitting and ranch sales in the northern Rockies, Jim's career reflects his love of the outdoors and deep respect for the American West.
His ranch sales experience, agricultural/recreational business expertise and passion for the western lifestyle allow Jim to provide unequaled client representation. His diverse clientele range from original homestead ranch families to equity fund investors, passionate fly fishermen to production oriented ag buyers. He joined L&K Real Estate in 2015, bringing his history and strength in the ranch and recreation field to the team.
