Big Sky offers a myriad of outdoor rec opportunities; a cornerstone of the West for every enthusiast whether you’re a backcountry, cross country, or downhill skier or spending summers hiking, biking and fishing. When we’re not playing outside, we’re looking to fuel up. Here are our top 10 restaurants in Big Sky – no facts, no Yelp reviews, just our opinions (and where you can always find a local).

Olive B’s

151 Center Ln  |  Big Sky, Montana  |  Visit Website
Upscale dining, unbelievable drinks (don’t miss a huckleberry martini). A menu full of classic meats, seafood, and vegetables – but always with a special Montana twist.

Our favorite dish? Pork prime rib chop – 12 ounce char-broiled chop, sweet potato, and spinach with hash, pearl onions, and red grapes. Served with Flathead cherry and apple chutney.

Riverhouse

45130 Gallatin Rd  |  Gallatin Gateway, Montana  |  Visit Website
Classic Texas style BBQ. Riverhouse is a must visit – with a fun dining atmosphere and all the mouth watering barbecue favorites you can imagine. Don’t skip out on the cornbread.

Our favorite dish? 3 piece fried chicken dinner – locals favorite.

The Rock’s

33 Lone Peak Dr #102  |  Big Sky, Montana  |  Visit Website
A locally owned gem. Casual atmosphere with delicious salads, soups, and flatbreads. Menu showcases a Montana favorite – bison!

Our favorite dish? The bison blue flatbread or their pho. Always check their soup of the day!

Horn and Cantle

750 Lone Mountain Ranch Rd  |  Big Sky, Montana  |  Visit Website
Horn and Cantle is another local favorite (would we be sharing these with you if they weren’t?), a classic steakhouse sitting on 100+ year old Lone Mountain Ranch. This cozy lodge is idyllic any time of the year and although the menu is updated seasonally, you are sure to find locally sourced specialties such as elk, bison, and duck.

Our favorite dish? Fried chicken or elk meatballs. Great wine selection and the best bartenders for specialty cocktails.

Copper Whiskey Bar & Grill, Wilson Hotel

145 Town Center Ave  |  Gallatin Gateway, Montana  |  Visit Website
A newer addition to Big Sky Town Center, but the sister restaurant to Copper on Main Street in Bozeman. Fantastic burgers and a slew of whiskeys to sample. Wednesday’s are “burger and a beer” night, where you can get their classic burger with a PBR or Rainier for $13. (A steal).

Our favorite dish? That classic burger.

Acre

25 Town Center  |  Big Sky, Montana  |  Visit Website
Great sandwiches and soups made with fresh local ingredients. A casual “cafe” style spot with great coffee and ice cream! A quick and easy favorite with something for everyone on the menu.

Our favorite dish? Bison bolognese, brussels salad or breakfast sandwich.

Michaelangelo’s Big Sky

1554 Center Ln  |  Gallatin Gateway, Montana  |  Visit Website
Certainly the best Italian spot. Michaelangelo’s makes its own fresh pasta and homemade sauces. Their extensive wine list does not disappoint. An upscale, cozy location with the comfort foods to match.

Our favorite dish? Pappardelle alla Bolognese, Cervo Alce con Pistacchio e Nebbiolo (elk chops) and tiramisu for dessert!

Wild Caddis Restaurant at Rainbow Ranch

42950 Gallatin Road  |  Gallatin Gateway, Montana  |  Visit Website
High-end dining with world class contemporary cuisine. Wild Caddis also features some savory and unique specialties such as – lamb, octopus, trout, bison, and venison. This menu is perfectly curated and spotlights a variety of local Montana products in a gourmet fashion.

Our favorite dish? Roasted rainbow trout.

Corral Bar

42895 Gallatin Road  |  Gallatin Gateway, Montana  |  Visit Website
This is where you can find Big Sky locals starting their day. Delicious, classic, cowboy style breakfast. Simple and savory. Big plates for big appetites – be sure to come hungry!

Our favorite dish? Chicken fried steak.

Blue Buddha

99 Town Center Avenue  |  Big Sky, Montana  |  Visit Website
Described as “traditional sushi with a modern twist”, Blue Buddha offers a lively atmosphere with great sushi and seafood. Come for dinner, stay for the party. Blue Buddha becomes a fun bar-style experience in the evening!

Our favorite dish? The Twist or Weekend at Burnies rolls, crab cake appetizer, Lake Powell roll, ramen special when available. Yum yum bombs for dessert (tempura fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle).
